Dana Gas in Kurdistan deal

Dana Gas has signed a strategic alliance with the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq. The Kurdistan government, Dana Gas and its affiliate Crescent Petroleum will jointly review natural gas resources in the region with a view to their future development and utilisation. The Kurdistan Gas City industrial complex was also launched, while Dana has been additionally contracted to develop, process and transport gas from the Khor Mor field.
NIOC in Malaysia deal

The National Iranian Oil Company is to support the funding of a $14bn oil pipeline earmarked for northern Malaysia, according to reports. It has been rumoured the move has political implications as the pipeline will enable shippers to avoid Singapore, an American ally, if tensions increase between Iran and the US over the former's nuclear policy.
IEA eyes Opec uplift

The International Energy Agency has predicted that, despite its current output cutbacks, Opec will add around 2.6m barrels per day to its capacity by the end of 2008, reported Bloomberg. The expansion will be led by Saudi Arabia and the organisation's newest member Angola. The IEA estimates Opec's capacity will hit 36.5m bpd by the end of next year, up from 33.9m bpd at the end of 2006.

Forecast: Median home prices will drop

The National Association of Realtors on Wednesday said it expects the national median price for existing homes to drop this year for the first time since the trade group began keeping records in the late 1960s.
